The difference between shielded and unshielded cables

1. Difference in anti-interference

Unshielded cables are mainly used in environments without interference, while shielded cables are used in environments with interference. Unshielded cables have no shielding layer, and their diameter is relatively small, which saves space. In environments without interference, they are not only convenient to use, but also save space when wiring.

2. Difference in transmission speed

The transmission speed of unshielded network cable is actually faster than that of shielded network cable. If the wiring of the spatial structure is close to the air conditioner and is a source of interference, shielded network cable should be used.

The difference between single-shielded and double-shielded network cables is that double-shielded network cables have an extra shielding layer compared to single-shielded network cables, which can actually be seen from their names. Double-shielded cables have slower transmission speeds than single-shielded cables.

3. Price Difference

In terms of price, the price of unshielded cables is cheaper than that of shielded cables. The price of cables is not entirely determined by the transmission speed. Shielded cables exist to deal with interference sources in the environment, so they are more expensive and more troublesome to wire.
