Tabs are a raw material for lithium-ion polymer battery products. There are three typesTab material: The positive electrode is aluminum (Al), the negative electrode is nickel (Ni), and the negative electrode is nickel-plated copper (Ni-Cu), all of which are composed of two parts: a film and a metal strip.

The film is the insulating part of the tab. Its function is to prevent short circuit between the metal strip and the aluminum-plastic film during battery packaging, and to seal it with the aluminum-plastic film by heat (about 140°C) to prevent leakage.

A tab is made of two films, sandwiching a metal strip in the middle. There are three types of films used in the market: black film, white film and single-layer film. The commonly used black film is a three-layer structure: melanin, melting point 66°C; PE, melting point 105°C; PP, melting point 137°C. The finished packaging of the tab is divided into disc type (the whole metal strip is filmed and wound into a disc) and plate type (the metal strip is filmed and cut into independent sheets, and then arranged in a row, with two transparent thin plastic sheets sandwiched in the middle).
